ＡＲＭＡ美術館 ARMA museum

　アルマ美術館(アグン・ライ・ミュージーアム・オブ・アート)は、1996年6月9日、教育文化相ワルディマン・ジョジョネゴロ氏によって公式にオープンしました。それに先立つ同年5月13日に設立されたアルマ財団が、美術館の運営を行っています。アルマは単なる美術館を超えた、ビジュアルアートと、パフォーマンスアートの拠点となっています。絵画の常設展、特別展、演劇、舞踊、音楽、また絵画教室、ワークショップの企画、図書室、会議やセミナーの施設など、訪れる人が享受できるあらゆる機会を提供しています。アルマ財団所蔵、アグン・ライ夫妻所蔵品から、バイ・インドネシアの画家、海外アーティストの作品が常設されており、伝統からコンテンポラリーまで幅広い分野の芸術を鑑賞できます。また、同敷地内のアルマ・オープンステージでは、土曜日・日曜日・新月と満月にダンスパフォーマンスが行われます。特に新月と満月のみに公演されるケチャックダンスは迫力がありおすすめです。

バリ島の暦 Calendar of Bali

バリ島では太陽暦である西暦と、バリ独自の暦であるウク暦・サカ暦が使用されています。寺院の祭礼などはウク暦・サカ暦をもとに行われていることが多く、ウク暦の祭日のなかで最大のガルンガンは、210日ごとにバリ中の村々で盛大に行われます。 ガルンガンは日本でいう迎え盆にあたり、神々や祖先の霊が地上に降りてくるとされています。その10日後に行われるクニガンが送り盆です。また、サカ暦の元日にあたるニュピは「静寂の日」とも呼ばれ、バリ島全体が外出禁止、観光客でも不用意に外に出ると逮捕されてしまいます。
この他、「オラダン」と呼ばれる個々の寺院の創立祭もあり、バリには島中の至るところに寺院があるため、毎日どこかしらでお祭りをやっていると言っても過言ではありません。特に満月、新月にはオラダンが集中し、正装をし、お供え物を頭に乗せて寺院へ向かう人々を目にすることができます。

パサールクレネン Pasarukurenen

　バリ島の市場は朝だけではなく、夜にも市場は開かれます。中でもパサールクレネンはデンパサール最大の夜市です。地元の人々が買い物を楽しむ、とにかく安くて賑やかなパサールです。

　毎日夕方から夜１１時頃まで開いており、中に入ると洋服、靴、ＣＤなどの店がズラリと並び、奥が見えない程の広さです。価格がついていない店が多いですが、商売上手なおばちゃんとの交渉も楽しみの一つです。

AJ- ハケット・バンジー・バリ AJ- Hackett Bungy Bali

　最高の高揚感、スリル、達成感が味わえるのが「バンジージャンプ」。バンジージャンプは、もともと部族の勇気試しにインドネシアで行われていた儀式ですが、今ではすっかりアトラクションとして定着しています。ビーチを目の前に45メートルの高さから一気にジャンプし、普段では味わえない緊張感に大興奮！飛び降りた後は、その勇気をたたえ証明書がもらえます。
　レギャンビーチ沿いのドラマティックなロケーションにあり、2005年にオープンして以来、250,000人以上の方がバンジージャンプを体験されてるそうです。

ワヤン・クリ Wayang Kulit

　今回はバリ島を代表する伝統芸能「ワヤン・クリ」とよばれる影絵芝居紹介します。ただの影絵と思われがちなパフォーマンスですが実は奥が深く、バリのヒンズー教と深く関わっている芸能のひとつで、バリのお寺での儀式・お祭りなどで頻繁に演じられます。ラーマヤナ物語、マハーバラタ物語のワヤン・クリはどちらもインドの古代叙事詩がもとになっており、今の世界観や日常にも通じる部分があったりします。
　演奏は、終始、昔バリ島で使用されていたと言われている、カウィ語によって行われます。言葉よりも、天上の音と呼ばれるガムラン楽器が織り成す音たち、影絵が生み出すオーラ、訴えかけるメッセージを、それぞれのハートで感じていただけたらと思います。

バトゥアン村民家 batuan villager

　バトゥアン村民家は、デンパサールから15kmのバトゥアン村にあります。この民家は、バリ人の家族6人が普段の生活を送りながら住んでいるところで、お布施を払って中を見学することができます。バリの中にある民家は、どこでも形が同じです。建物の中の配置がすべて同じです。東側にはお祭りのお供えものを作るための建物、南側には、台所があります。西側にある建物は、親たちの部屋になります。そして北側にある建物は、子どもたちの部屋、または出来たお供え物を置く建物になっています。でも、バリ島のヒンズー教の家には、東北側に家族のお寺があります。このお寺は“家族寺”と呼ばれ、毎日お供え物をし、お祈りをします。この地域はまだ洗濯や、水浴びなどはすべて川で行われています。台所もガスは使われず、薪をくべて火をおこします。お母さんたちは、朝早くからたくさんの料理を作り、それを夜まで1日分の食事として食べます。なので、バリ人の食事の時間は決まっておらず、お腹がすいたときにいつでも食べられるようになっています。
