クヘン寺院 Kehen temple

　南部エリアから車で2時間のバンリは昔ながらの文化が息づく山あいの村。バトゥール山のふもとにあり標高も高めなので、気候の良い町としても知られています。クヘン寺院はバンリ最大の見所で、11世紀に建立され、バンリ王朝時代には国寺とされていた格調高い寺院。到着したらまずは階段の見事な石彫りに目を奪われるでしょう。階段を登りきった先は外境、中境、奥境の3段に分かれており、ヒンドゥー3大神の彫り込まれた仏塔や、壁に埋め込まれた中国陶器、11層のメルなど見所がたくさんあります。
