前回のバロンダンスに引き続き今回はバリ島の有名な舞踊の1つ、レゴンダンスを紹介致します。
レゴンダンスは何種類かあり、通常レゴンはクラトンが上演されます。クラトンとはインドネシア語で宮殿のことです。 名前の通り、宮廷舞踊として伝えられてきたものです。ある国の王様ラッサムと、彼からの求婚を拒否するランケサリ王女の物語をスは３人の女性ダンサーが踊りで表現します。チョンドンと呼ばれるダンサーは舞踊団の花形で、将来性のある若い女性ダンサーが踊ります。
