バリ島中部にある山あいの村ウブドには「芸術の村」と呼ばれる村があります。海沿いの観光エリアとはまた違った趣があり、ウブド南部、ジャランモンキーフォレストの突きあたりにあるモンキーフォレストは、自然保護区になっており、野生の猿達が森の中を自由気ままに動き回っています。野生といっても、毎日飼育係りにより餌を与えられており、大事に扱われています。 この森はプラ（ヒンドゥー寺院）を守るためにある鎮守の森です。森の住人である猿たちは聖なる生き物として、村人たちに手厚く守られています。 人々が猿を守り、猿が森を守り、森がプラを守る。そしてプラが人々を守っているここに「モンキーフォレスト」と呼ばれる森があります。 この森の奥には寺院があり、サルンを入り口で巻いてもらって中に入ることが出来ます。

Food can be given by the breeding staff every day, and wildness is treated carefully. These woods are a grove of a village shrine which exists in order to protect plastic Hindu temple one. the monkeys which are the residents in woods it is warmly protected by villagers as a living thing. People protect a monkey, a monkey protects woods and woods protect PURA. And there are woods called "monkey Forest" to here currently PURA is protecting people here. A temple is in the inner part of these woods, and I have SARUN rolled at the entrance, and it can go into inside.
